Consult

Lorna Jane’s work as a consultant includes:

  • Strategic Planning

  • Leadership Transition Planning and Succession Planning

  • Meeting and retreat facilitation - Boards, Staff, Direct Service Providers

  • Building team culture

  • Strengthening operations through staffing design

  • Assessing organizational readiness for change

Lorna has been an amazing support and resource in more ways than I can count. From leading me through my hiring process as a candidate for my Executive Director position to working with me as a coach as I onboarded into my role, to working closely with my leadership as we develop our 5-year strategic plan, Lorna has continued to build upon her knowledge of not only the music education field but my community specifically to transition us to our next chapter. She has been a crucial part of our evolution and I feel grateful to have her as a partner in this work.
Erika Atkins - Executive Director - Bloomingdale School of Music

Spanning her career, Lorna Jane has worked at all levels of the not-for-profit organizational structure, from direct services provider to Executive Director and most recently as a Board member. This enables her to explore organizational challenges and possibilities from many vantage points. Clients tell Lorna Jane that what makes her approach unique is how she integrates her coaching skills into her work as a consultant. Using continuous inquiry and deep listening, LJN ensures that the process design and the work begins and lies with the client.

“Working with Lorna was a meaningful and eye-opening experience. I was not sure what to expect at first, but her clear preparatory materials made me feel comfortable before we even met. My team was able to articulate and recognize strengths and areas of improvement for our relationships and for our organization during our time with Lorna Jane, much due to her easy and thoughtful moderation of conversation. Furthermore, her reflection questions afterwards ensured that my team would continue the great work sparked by this session.”
Troy Anderson - Executive Director - Chicago Center for Music Education
