LJN has been an amazing support and resource in more ways than I can count. From leading me through my hiring process as a candidate for my Executive Director position to working with me as a coach as I onboarded into my role, to working closely with my leadership as we develop our 5-year strategic plan, Lorna Jane has continued to build upon her knowledge of not only the music education field but my community specifically to transition us to our next chapter. She has been a crucial part of our evolution and I feel grateful to have her as a partner in this work.

In addition to bringing to the work her deep non-profit experience and expertise, Lorna Jane’s training and approach is rooted in Gestalt concepts. In practice, this means:
Stepping back and out to consider the whole - the dynamics at play at multiple system levels - societal, geographic, sector, field, organizational, team, dyad, individual
Working responsively - allowing the work to unfold and evolve over the course of an engagement
Promoting and practicing curiosity - asking powerful questions and deeply listening to the answers
Creating the conditions to support courageous conversations - so that individuals and organizations are in a position to understand, meet, and act on the moment
The possibility lens - helping people and organizations to frame transition as a time for reflection, learning, creativity, and as an opportunity for organizations to come together around what is possible
Spanning her career, Lorna Jane has worked at all levels of the not-for-profit organizational structure, from direct services provider to Executive Director and most recently as a Board member. This enables her to explore organizational challenges and possibilities from many vantage points. Clients consistently share that there are four ways in which her approach is most helpful and unique:
1. Bringing coaching skills to the work - using continuous inquiry and deep listening to encourage generative and courageous conversations
2. Exceptional project management - confidently driving the process - organizing meetings and materials so that busy board and staff members can participate easily and fully
3. An ability to distill information gathered from twenty conversations into three bullet points
4. Connecting with clients in an authentic way with warmth, compassion, transparency, and laughter
